Dr. Sun Yat Sen Garden Engagement Session {Peter & Stephanie}

We returned to the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Classical Chinese Garden in Vancouver last weekend for Peter & Stephanie’s engagement session. We hadn’t been to the garden since we shot a wedding there a couple of years ago and I think we’d both forgotten just how nice it is! We had rain for the whole session but thankfully we’d remembered the umbrellas and they added a nice element to the photos we took. Peter and Stephanie were great fun to work with and we’ll look forward to shooting their wedding day this coming September! Here are a few of our favourite images from the engagement shoot. Granville Island Wedding {Hunter & Gabriela}

Last weekend we shot a wedding session on Granville Island for Hunter & Gabriela. It was a very intimate wedding and the couple had decided not to hire a photographer. Their friend Gloria, however, had other ideas and brought us in to take some photos for an hour before the ceremony, which took place in Kitsilano.

It was a cold day but the threat of rain held out and we were fortunate enough to get through the shoot before the first drops appeared! Here are some of our favourite moments! As usual we’ll ask you to let us know what you think in the comments section at the end!

Arbutus Club Wedding {Ryan & Lexa}

Ryan & Lexa married last summer at the Arbutus Club in Vancouver. It was our first visit to that venue and we’d love to go back! The day began for us at the Westin Bayshore downtown for some getting ready shots with Lexa and her girlfriends. Immediately after that we went outside to do the family pictures. Ryan joined us for that and we did a little ‘first look’ session since the alter wouldn’t be the first time they saw each other!

The weather was great and the ceremony on the Arbutus Club rooftop deck was fantastic. It was an intimate gathering of close friends and family and really set the tone for the rest of the evening. We had a little bit of time before the reception began so we took the couple to another rooftop area for a photo shoot in the gardens.
