Gil & Rozeela tied the knot last summer at Vancouver’s Stanley Park Pavilion. We’d shot there before and like the previous times the ceremony took place on the lawn outside. This was the first time we’d seen the alter positioned on the steps though and I have to say it was a much better setup in my mind!

The day began at the Westin Bayshore hotel in downtown Vancouver. The couple each had their own rooms and got ready there with the various members of the bridal party. It’s a really nice hotel if you haven’t been there before and well worth considering if you’re looking for a place to get ready on your wedding day!

After the ceremony we took the bridal party off for some photos in the immediate vicinity of the Pavilion. We didn’t have much time before the reception began but I think we did really well with the time we did have and arrived back in plenty of time for dinner and dancing.

Mike & Magali held their wedding ceremony at the Canadian Memorial United Church in Vancouver. Last time we were there the entire building was surrounded by scaffolding so it was nice to see the church in all it’s glory! It was a lovely sunny day and the ceremony was beautiful.

When it was over we took some family shots outside before heading off to Stanley Park to spend some time with the bridal party. I remember it was pretty windy out at the Brockton Point lighthouse so we had some fun with the veil and of course the ladies’ hair!

The day ended at Mayfair Lakes Golf and Country Club, which if you haven’t been before, is a fabulous venue out in Richmond. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere generated by family, friends and party games was electric!

We love shooting in Stanley Park so when Matt & Kat asked us to take their engagement photos there we were over the moon! It was another beautiful evening and the lighting towards the end of the session was gorgeous! It almost felt like we were in California or some other nice, warm locale. We haven’t had much of that in Vancouver this year but we’ll definitely take some more!

We visited St. Andrew’s Parish Church back in June for David & Marie’s wedding day. It was a beautiful ceremony attended by the couple’s closest family and friends. After the church visit we headed across Vancouver to Stanley Park where the reception would be held in the Teahouse Restaurant. Before arriving at the Teahouse though we took the bride, groom and bridal party around the park for a bit of a photo shoot. The weather was terrific and I think everyone had a really good time! This continued into the reception and, I’m sure, well into the night after we had left!

Last Saturday saw us return to Stanley Park for another engagement session, this time with Keith & Erin! It was a warm, sunny day and for the first time this year it actually felt like summer is just around the corner! We met in the Rose Garden but decided not to take any pictures since the blossoms on the trees there were finished and the garden looked a bit drab. Instead we went for a walk and found some really great spots nearby where the blossoms were still in full bloom. We ended the session by walking down to the seawall and having some fun on the beach.

We met with David and Marie last weekend at Stanley Park in Vancouver. The shoot began in the Rose Garden before we made our way around the park stopping off at a few select locations along the way. It was a funny day weather wise. The start of the shoot was warm and very sunny. This gradually turned into overcast, very cold and a few spots of rain. Thankfully we were finished before it decided to rain a little harder.

At one point we were shooting in the same location as a newly married couple. I think we all felt pretty bad for the bride… strapless wedding dress + blustery cold wind = miserable. Still, they seemed to be getting through it so good for them!

Dean & Lauren were married back in March at the Teahouse in Stanley Park. We began our day early with some getting ready shots of Lauren and her mother/sisters downtown. Then we headed out to the restaurant for the ceremony. The event took place in a huge heated tent just next to the restaurant. It was a cold day so the heaters were certainly appreciated by everybody! It was a short, sweet ceremony and when it was over everyone headed into the restaurant for the reception.

The food was excellent and everyone had a wonderful time. The dessert selection in particular was outstanding. I wanted to make sure the creme puffs were up to scratch… so I did… several times :)

After some very emotional speeches we took the family outside for some group shots on the lawn before stealing Dean & Lauren away for a private shoot around Stanley Park. It was still very cold at this point but we got some great pictures so the goosebumps were definitely worth it!

We ended the day in Gastown where the couple were reunited with their family for a dinner at the Water Street Cafe. Here are our favourite shots from the day. Let us know what you think at the end!

Tyler and Nikki were married last summer at the Vancouver Rowing Club in Stanley Park. It was a very sunny day and very warm. We began at a hotel downtown for some getting ready shots of Nikki before arriving at the Rowing Club. The ceremony was fantastic with family and friends gathered on the club’s rooftop deck in the bright sunshine.

After the ceremony we took the wedding party around Stanley Park for some pictures before returning to the Rowing Club for a fun-filled reception.

We met with Ryan and Natalie last month in Stanley Park for their engagement session. It was a gorgeous evening and there were lots of great opportunities for photos. The wedding is coming up quite soon so stay tuned for that too!

One of our early September weddings was at the Stanley Park Pavilion! We met Kel & Allison beforehand to take some some getting ready shots. Kel was at a friend’s house with Allison next door at the Bayshore. The couple went on their first date to Cardero’s and Allison’s room at the Bayshore looked down on the restaurant. We knew right then that we’d have to take her down there for a few shots when we’d finished in the hotel room!

The weather had been iffy in the morning but started to clear up as the ceremony approached. I’m glad it did because that meant the ceremony was outside. Check this out for a story… Kel’s mum walk him down the aisle just over a week after heart surgery! WOW! Still can’t believe it!

Anyway, the weather held out and we had a fantastic ceremony and reception to photograph. Here are a few of our favourite shots from the day…
