Paul & Megan asked us to shoot their engagement session at the University of British Columbia. I wasn’t very familiar with the area and have only shot before at Cecil Green Mansion. We met with the couple at the Rose Garden and from there visited a few spots that meant something to them as they both attended UBC and have some fond memories of the place. I do too now! It really is a beautiful campus with photo opportunities around every corner! Just before the end of the shoot we headed down to Spanish Banks for some photos on the beach. When we got there though we found the tide was in… all the way in. Never mind, we did find a couple of spots that allowed us to get a “beach feel” to the pictures

We love shooting in Stanley Park so when Matt & Kat asked us to take their engagement photos there we were over the moon! It was another beautiful evening and the lighting towards the end of the session was gorgeous! It almost felt like we were in California or some other nice, warm locale. We haven’t had much of that in Vancouver this year but we’ll definitely take some more!

It was a wonderful evening in False Creek a couple of weeks ago when we shot Ken & Ingrid’s engagement shoot! The weather was warm and sunny and it actually felt like summer… a rarity these days! The couple didn’t take very long to get used to the camera and I think we ended up with some really great shots! Here are a few we liked the most…

A couple of weeks ago we visited Deep Cove with Mike and Elizabeth for their engagement session. We love it in Deep Cove and there’s always something interesting going on there to capture our imagination. We usually stick to the town and waterfront when shooting in the Cove but Mike and Elizabeth wanted to take some pictures in the forest. Great suggestion and we got some really awesome results!

Gil and Rozeela opted to have us shoot their engagement session in the Coal Harbour area. They met at a coffee shop down that way and wanted to have some photos taken there before heading down to the waterfront. Although the couple were engaged earlier this year, Gil was yet to give Rozeela a ring. So, he decided to surprise her with it when we arrived at the coffee shop! Surprised she was! Last week we were back at the Britannia Heritage Shipyard in Steveston for Mike & Magali’s engagement session. It was a beautiful evening with a little bit too much sunshine for our liking :) Still, we were able to find some nice shady spots and here are some of our favourite shots from the session!

We met with Dan & Laura a couple of weeks ago in Vancouver’s Charleson Park. We took a bunch of awesome pictures there before walking along the seawall into Granville Island. Check out a selection of our favourite images from the shoot below…!

We had a great time with Nick & Lauren last weekend! We chose to do the shoot in the Vancouver Olympic Village since the backdrops down there are great and there are still very few people around ;)

The couple are huge CFL fans and support rival teams. Nick is a BC Lions fan while Lauren follows the Saskatchewan Roughriders! They decided to bring their jerseys with them on the shoot and put them on for some fun shots around the village. I detected a bit of fierce competition but the couple are still able to live in harmony :)

Nick got the last laugh though as we found a nice bright orange wall to sit Lauren in front of. As you can see in the images below, she wasn’t impressed! Enjoy!

We returned to the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Classical Chinese Garden in Vancouver last weekend for Peter & Stephanie’s engagement session. We hadn’t been to the garden since we shot a wedding there a couple of years ago and I think we’d both forgotten just how nice it is! We had rain for the whole session but thankfully we’d remembered the umbrellas and they added a nice element to the photos we took. Peter and Stephanie were great fun to work with and we’ll look forward to shooting their wedding day this coming September! Here are a few of our favourite images from the engagement shoot. Last Saturday saw us return to Stanley Park for another engagement session, this time with Keith & Erin! It was a warm, sunny day and for the first time this year it actually felt like summer is just around the corner! We met in the Rose Garden but decided not to take any pictures since the blossoms on the trees there were finished and the garden looked a bit drab. Instead we went for a walk and found some really great spots nearby where the blossoms were still in full bloom. We ended the session by walking down to the seawall and having some fun on the beach.
