Chapel at Queen Elizabeth Park Wedding {Joel & Tina}

We kicked off 2010 with an evening wedding at the Chapel in Queen Elizabeth Park. By the time the ceremony began it was dark and gloomy outside. Inside, however, was softly lit with candles and the intimate setting provided a wonderful ceremony which was enjoyed by Joel & Tina’s closest friends and family. I think Joel and Tina might have enjoyed it too :)

When the proceedings had drawn to a close we took the couple outside for a shoot in the dark! Luckily the fountains were lit up so we had some light to work with. We also took the lanterns outside which provided a really unique look to the final images.

Bombay Banquet Hall Wedding {Roger & Nitu}

What a cold November night this was! We met Roger & Nitu at the Guildford Sheraton in Surrey for some getting ready pictures. We took some shots in Nitu’s room before heading down to the lobby to meet up with Roger. From there it was off to the Bombay Banquet Hall for the reception. The couple married in Mexico the week before so there was no ceremony to capture at this one!

The hall is large and holds a lot of guests! Roger & Nitu made their entry, along with the bridal party, in the style of “the YouTube wedding dance”. You know what I’m talking about… 30 million hits at time of writing! That set the tone for a night of fun and laughter… oh, and dancing… lots of dancing!

Canadian Memorial United Church Wedding {Kevin & Kim}

Our second October wedding took us to the Canadian Memorial United Church on 16th and Burrard. It was our first shoot at this particular church and an absolutely fantastic location for a wedding. The weather was great and everyone enjoyed a really beautiful ceremony! Kevin & Kim hired a Scottish piper to lead them down the aisle and it really added to the dramatic atmosphere inside.

After the ceremony we took the bridal party to the Vancouver Public Library for a photo shoot where it started to rain! It got heavier and heavier until we were caught in an absolute deluge down at Canada Place. Now you’d think that might spoil the picture taking but in fact it added to the whole effect and we got some really neat photos down by the waterfront before heading into the Terminal City Club for the reception. We were only there for half an hour or so and then had to make our way home through the pouring rain!

A great day for all involved and a pattern seems to be emerging… it always rains when we shoot at the library!

Capilano Golf & Country Club Wedding {Andrew & Margot}

We kicked off our October weddings with a visit to the Capilano Golf & Country Club for Andrew & Margot’s wedding. It was our first visit to this particular venue and I have to say it was pretty spectacular. There are lots of great photo opportunities and fantastic wedding facilities. We’re already looking forward to another visit there next year!

Anyway, here are a few shots from Andrew & Margot’s wedding! Please feel free as always to leave a comment at the end of the photos!

Thank you & Happy Holidays!

Thank you everyone for another successful wedding season and another extraordinary year at Blü Studio Photography! We met so many really great people in 2009 and visited a whole host of venues, some familiar, and some completely new. Our wedding schedule is filling up quickly for next year and we look forward to the relationships we will forge with new vendors, our new clients and all their family & friends!

So thank you once again to everybody who participated in our own storybook this year and we wish you all a safe and happy holiday season! Hopefully we’ll see you all again in 2010!
