This particular shot is kind of difficult to get as you have to climb over the safety rail and out onto a rocky ledge above the water. It’s also very dark under all the tree cover so you should try and go there when the sun is shining down on the water shoot. Get past those two problems and you can end up with a great picture!

Send us your nature photos for a chance to be featured in Blü Studio’s Nature Photo of the Week!

Our fourth installment of Nature Photo of the Week shows a holding tank at the Capilano Salmon Hatchery in North Vancouver. There are thousands and thousands of tiny salmon in these tanks plus lots more. It’s well worth a look and it’s free to go in. There are also some really nice trails you can head out on and an amazing view of Cleveland Dam.

The little chap was nonchalantly paddling along and I just happened to be there with my camera and a nice long lens. I think it was my old Sigma 50-500mm bad boy! Anyway, this remains the only shot I’ve gotten of a beaver so I’m pretty proud of it! Enjoy…

Not many people know that we started out as nature photographers so we thought it might be nice to start a new segment called “Nature Photo of the Week”. So, without further ado, here is the first one. We chose this particular shot because now is the time that the magnolia trees are starting to blossom. Look around town on your next outing and you’ll see what I mean :)
