Phil & Jasmin had their wedding ceremony and reception at the Metro Hall in New Westminster. Before all that began though we met Jasmin in her hotel room at the New Westminster Quay for some getting ready shots with her bridesmaids. Meanwhile, Phil was making his way down to the quay for some first look photos once we’d finished with hair, makeup and dress.
For the first look photos we chose a little tug boat which had been placed on the quay and turned into a play/exploration area for kids and bridal parties. It was a fun setting which really played into the setting of where we were.
We hadn’t been to the Metro Hall before and wondered if maybe it would continue the nautical theme into the ceremony and reception. Nope. The Metro Hall is a club like you would find in downtown Vancouver. It’s dark and mysterious and seemed like the perfect choice for a young couple like Phil & Jasmin.
The ceremony room was very tightly packed with friends and family. There wasn’t much room to manoeuvre as a photographer but luckily Elora found a spot off to the side and I had use of the aisle to make sure we got all the shots we wanted to.
The reception was in a much larger room and had plenty more space for us to work with :) It was a really great night so thanks to Phil + Jasmin for having us there!
